Girl with booksWe've got everything you need at the library. Come to the library for cool programs that you won't find anywhere else! Join us for our fun programs where we hang out, have fun and make cool stuff! We offer a number of different programs at various times throughout the year. Check out our calendar of events to see the current dates of new programs!

Teen Fan Club - NEW!

Are you an anime and manga fan?  Are you a cosplayer?  Are you a fan of Doctor Who, Sherlock or Supernatural?  If you answered yes to any of the above, the new OPL Teen Fan Club may be for you!  Come watch anime, share your artwork or discuss your favorite series on the first Monday of each month from 4-5:15pm in the teen section of the Library.  Join us Monday, February 3rd at 4pm! Boredom Busters

Boredom Busters is a drop in programs for teens available every day in the teen section of the library. Located on the teen shelves are board games such as Jenga, Chess, and Guess Who and craft buckets with drop in projects which can include making bookmarks, friendship bracelets, magazine crafts, duct tape projects and more. For more info make your way to the teen section today!

LGBTQA Youth Drop In

On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 5-7pm youth are invited to come to the library in partnership with Youth Opportunities Orillia for a LGBTQA Youth Drop In. The drop in will be held in the program rooms on the first floor.   Contact us for more info.

Teen Book Reviews- NEW!

Do you love to get free books?  Are you opinionated? Do you like to write?
If you answered to all of the above then this program is for you! For a list of books available for review please check out the Teen Scene blog at www.oplteenscene.blogspot.ca. If you would like to review a book from out collection you will receive volunteer hours towards the community service hours needed to graduate.  This program is for tweens and teens in elementary and high school.  For more information contact Lindsey or call 705-325-2338 ext 212.

 

Makerspace - NEW!

The Orillia Public Library is hosting a new program called Makerspace.  Teens in grades 8-12 are invited to come once a month to create, invent, and learn a new skill.  Projects include wire jewelry making, altered books, painting, melted crayon art, anime drawing and more.  We will be meeting on the second Thursday of each month in the large program room. No registration required!
