Are you an anime and manga fan? Are you a cosplayer? Are you a fan of Doctor Who, Sherlock or Supernatural? If you answered yes to any of the above, the new OPL Teen Fan Club may be for you! Come watch anime, share your artwork or discuss your favorite series on the first Monday of each month from 4-5:15pm in the teen section of the Library. Join us Monday, February 3rd at 4pm! Boredom Busters is a drop in programs for teens available every day in the teen section of the library. Located on the teen shelves are board games such as Jenga, Chess, and Guess Who and craft buckets with drop in projects which can include making bookmarks, friendship bracelets, magazine crafts, duct tape projects and more. On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 5-7pm youth are invited to come to the library in partnership with Youth Opportunities Orillia for a LGBTQA Youth Drop In. The drop in will be held in the program rooms on the first floor. Contact us for more info.

If you would like to review a book from out collection you will receive volunteer hours towards the community service hours needed to graduate. The Orillia Public Library is hosting a new program called Makerspace. Teens in grades 8-12 are invited to come once a month to create, invent, and learn a new skill. Projects include wire jewelry making, altered books, painting, melted crayon art, anime drawing and more. We will be meeting on the second Thursday of each month in the large program room. No registration required!
