Interactive Remembrance Day Exhibit

Thursday, November 8 from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

Program Rooms
Meet our shared history face-to-face during our interactive Remembrance Day Exhibit!  Many artifacts from both World Wars as well as conflicts from Korea to present day will be on display in the Library.  Plus, get a glimpse into the lives of more than 60 people who lived through World War I and World War II.  Saturday's exhibit will also feature additional displays with special artifacts, photos, information and music honouring our local soldiers.    Free and open to all.  Please email us for more information.

Walk of Remembrance
Saturday, November 10
10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Take a self-guided tour on Saturday, November 10th from the Library, down Mississaga Street to the Orillia Legion and recreate the final walk for many of our local soldiers through the streets of their hometown.  Tour booklets available all day at the Library. 

Letters to Santa
Sunday November 18 

1-3:30 p.m. 
Grab a front-row seat to the Santa Claus parade, while writing a letter to the man himself. Our magic mailbox will get the letters to the North Pole quickly. Free!

Sensitive Santa 
Saturday December 8 
12-4:30 p.m.
Book a 15-minute session with our Santa. This is perfect for children who have social, emotional or behavioral needs. We will be in a sensory-friendly space. Please RSVP. Space is limited. Cost: by Donation

Winter Reading Club
Kicks off Friday, December 21! 
Like Summer Reading Club, only shorter and colder!  This club is for ages 0-18!  Read what you want, tell our Library staff all about it, and enter to win prizes.  We have prize draws to beat the winter blues, and book wizards to find your next great read. This is a free club.  Ask us how to sign up!

Family Gift Making Party
Saturday December 22
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Families are welcome to come make personalized gifts together at our party. This is a free event, donations to the food bank are welcomed. No registration required.

Kid’s Birding Storytime! Part of Passport to Nature
Grant’s Woods: Saturday, December 29

10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Calling all curious kids! In partnership with Couchiching Conservancy, we are doing an outdoor, active storytime with naturalist Deb Halbot. Registration is online through http://www.couchichingconserv.ca/passport-to-nature/
