TD Summer Reading Club
Children's Dept.
Join the club with your Library card, kids! Record what you read, write book reviews, and earn badges as you keep reading over the summer and PLAY at our awesome summer programs!

Hot Readers  
Don't let the kids have all the fun. We are excited to launch our third annual Hot Readers Summer Reading Club for Grown Ups!  You can pick up ballots or register online beginning Saturday, June 13th.  All you need to do to participate is read or listen to whatever you want: books, e-books or audiobooks.  Whatever works for you! The more you read, the more chances you have to win. We'll be giving away a weekly book gift baskets in July and August. Each entry we recieve throught the summer will be eligable as the winner of the Grand Prize of 12 passes to Mariposa Film Nights.

Books on Tap

Meet us on the patio at Studabakers for the next Books on Tap meeting!  This is a fun book club for 20 & 30-somethings!  Our August selection is "Far From the Madding Crowd" by Thomas Hardy.  The group will also meet Monday, August 11th at the Library to screen the new movie version of "Far From the Madding Crowd" at 7:30pm.  Drop in to the Library to RSVP and pick up your copy!

Champlain, 400 Years Later

Four hundred years ago, explorer Samuel de Champlain traveled through Huronia. The Library will immerse you in the past and dive into the history of Native and French Canadian culture. Join us for:

  • Exhibits and guest speakers
  • First Nations food tasting
  • French Canadian singing
  • Storytelling
  • Make an astrolabe or take part in an "archeological dig"
  • Showcase of French Canadian and Native cultures

This is a free event made possible in partnership with: Ontario 400, Simco County Museum, and Chippewas of Rama First Nation Culture Department.
