BATTLE OF THE BOOKS !
The “Battle of the Books” is a fun annual event which has tests local elementary students' knowledge of books and authors.
All Orillia and area schools are invited to take part! The Battle is a
competition between teams who try to identify the titles
and authors of books from questions based on the settings, plots and
characters in familiar stories. Each team is composed
of up to eight members, any configuration of players from grades 4 to 8, with no more than two grade 7's and two grade 8's playing at a time.
(Six players comprise a team, with up to two substitute players.)
The categories of the books are: Canadian books, Classics, Award Winners,
Fairy and Folktales, and Fun and Fantasy.
In May, teams from all participating Orillia and area schools will meet for a
Round Robin of three team semi-battles.
Semi-battle winners will then represent their school in a Grand Battle in the spring (in late May).
