Reader's Advisory

Image of Michelle Sinclair. Readers' Advisory service

  • You've read everything by your favorite author

  • Youre looking for something to read until your holds arrive

  • You're making a trip to the library for a relative or friend

  • You're having a difficult time finding a "good" book to read

  • You need help choosing what to read next.

If any of the above statements describe you, then you're in the right place!

Readers' Advisory is a patron-oriented service committed to promoting life long reading enjoyment. We share and talk about books and are more than happy to suggest good titles. We have award winners, mysteries, romance, suspense, historical, family saga, Christian fiction, gentle reads, classics, literary fiction, holiday fiction, westerns, fantasy, science fiction and horror novels.

Books are available in a variety of formats which include regular print, large print and audio book formats! Adults should stop by the Reader’s Advisory desk on the ground floor near the Circulation desk for your next great read!

Check out our ever changing book displays for further reading suggestions. We also have bookmarks of specific genres or author suggestions (if you like... try this...) on display near the Readers' Advisory desk.

Search the unknown of a mystery....

The Ninth Daughter by Barbara Hamilton
In Massachusetts 1773 Abigail Adams unwittingly becomes involved in a murder investigation, a missing friend plus protecting her patriot husband and friends after she finds a dead body at her friends’ house. Abigail unravels a conspiracy carefully to protect the secret organization and their families. Not only a great read but a little bit of history as well.

My Sister's KeeperThe Brutal Telling by Louise Penny
Inspector Gamache is called back to Three Pines to investigate a brutal murder in the tiny village. As he arrives to utter chaos, the author exposes us to a bizarre sequence of events unravelling to allow us to feel the horror within the community. The author shows us that things are not always as they seem. A riveting and compelling mystery.

Whisper to the Blood by Dana Stabenow
Kate Shugak of rural Alaska is back in her 16th mystery. Kate finds herself immersed in attacks, murder, corporate takeover, and being appointed the president of the Niniltna Native association. There is nonstop action as Kate works hard to solve the crimes, to fulfill her duties and roll with the punches. The author has given a tense thriller, incredible imagery of Alaska- a very good read.
