Why should I volunteer?

Volunteering opportunities are flexible and we have opportunities ranging from 2 hours a year to 10 hours a week.  

What Types of Things Can I Do?

Orillia Public Library offers a variety of volunteer positions - everything from...

• Checking the shelves
• Making sure books are in the correct location in order to make it easy to retrieve by staff and patrons
• Assisting at various events such as displays at the malls or book sale
• Checking videos and cassettes
• Delivering materials to our housebound patrons
• Other specific tasks.

We try to find an opportunity that will match your skills and interests.

How do I become a volunteer?

1. Fill out a Volunteer Application Form and return it with a current resume (if you have one) to Jayne Turvey
2. If there is a vacancy, you will be contacted for a preliminary interview.
