| In the pre-1914 days one of the most popular and adventurous trips for Orillians was that of canoeing down the Severn River. Some parties paddled down and back. Others paddled down the River to Wabasheen and took the train back to Orillia. In those days the plant at Big Chute had not been erected and many of the rapids were still on the River. |
