TD Summer Reading Club
How to participate:
1. Children ages birth-13 are invited to join the TD Summer Reading Club! Visit the Family Dept. by July 31st to register and use your official logbook to track your summer reading!
2. Read for fun! We'll work together to find books to spark your imagination and love of reading.
3. Come back weekly to tell us about your books, collect stickers, and earn ballots to enter exciting prize draws! Staff members are happy to assist with reporting formats that work for your child's needs! (The last day to report is August 24th.)
We also have an exciting line-up of free programs all summer long including storytimes, crafts, and games!
MONDAYS July 22: Lilo & Stitch |
TUESDAYS -In The Park (All Ages) Join us for an outdoor story adventure! Enjoy some fun in the sun with a different weekly theme. All ages are welcome to this drop-in program every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Check OPL's social media for weather-related updates. Join us to Move and Groove at Victoria Park! Come for a morning filled with stories, songs, dancing, crafts and fun activities! July 30: Make a Mess at Couchiching Beach Park (140 Canice St., Meet at Rotary Train area) -Primary Party (Ages 5-8) *Registration required. From the depths of the ocean to the ends of the galaxy, this weekly program will feature themed games, science, engineering, and art activities. Join in Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m. as we take summer fun to infinity and beyond! Feel the call of the sea and be inspired to create! Make your own light-up aquarium complete with low-maintenance plastic fish, paint abstract aquatic artworks, and participate in an ocean poem contest for prizes! Slide into the OPL Silly Summer Games at Victoria Park!This program promises ridiculous fun with team and individual games, prizes and a gigantic slip n’ slide. Guardians must stay with participants during the program. Create fan fashions with trash! Make costumes of your favourite characters with rubbish and show off your designs on the catwalk for prizes. August 13: Intergalactic Film Festival Travel through space and time to walk the red carpet at I.F.F! With a movie viewing of Home, free popcorn, and prizes for BEST ALIEN COSTUME, join the intergalactic fun!

WEDNESDAYS -Family Storytime (All Ages) Bring the whole family to enjoy our drop-in storytime with fun stories, songs, and rhymes. Meet in the Library Program Rooms Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Crafts will follow in the Family Dept.

THURSDAYS
-STEAM With a Theme (Ages 4+) We invite you to the Family Dept. to problem solve, create, play, mix, and mingle. This drop-in program runs Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and pairs children's pop culture with hands-on learning experiences.| July 25: Toy Story: Create Woody's friendship bracelets, help build Buzz a rocket and more! -Tween Time (Ages 9-13) *Registration required. Boldly go where no tween has gone before! Let's take our good vibes to new celestial heights. Reach for the stars on every Thursday from 2-3 p.m. Feel the call of the sea and be inspired to create! Make your own light-up aquarium complete with low-maintenance plastic fish, paint abstract aquatic artworks, and participate in an ocean poem contest for prizes! FRIDAYS
Join us for weekly challenges that will encourage silliness and creativity; it's a blast for the whole family! No registration required but space is limited. This program will be held in the Library Program Rooms Fridays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. OR 2-3 p.m.

SATURDAYS Pop by the Family Dept. on Saturdays between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for a self-guided art project. Each week try out something new AND leave the mess behind! We can't wait to see your next masterpiece! |
SPECIAL ACTIVITY
-Family Quest Kits (8-13 years) *Registration is required.
Can't make it in with the kids for our summer programs? Register for a Quest Kit! Quest Kits will include engaging take home activities to do in your own time over a seven-day loan. One per family, per week. Please register online and pick up in the Family Dept. (Please note: Pick-up is only available on Saturdays.)

Join us in the Library Program Room on Tuesday, August 20 from 2-7:30 p.m. or Wednesday, August 21 from 10:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. for a drop in, immersive space experience! Enter space with us and help us complete our space expeditions!
MAKERSPACE SUMMER FUN FOR KIDS
Visit the Makerspace on the Second Floor on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday of each week beginning July 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to complete a different project to make and take home! Free! No registration required! Recommended for ages 6+.
