Looking for fun things to do with the kids?  We offer free programs and activities for children of all ages.  All our children and family programs are free unless otherwise specified.

MARCH PROGRAMS 


Saturday Special (All Ages)

Join us in the Family Dept. for an EXTRA SPECIAL Saturday!  Every week, enjoy a fresh selection of self-guided activities we have created just for you! This drop-in program runs every Saturday in March from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Family Art (All Ages)

Drop-in to the Family Dept. for a fun art project that all skill levels will enjoy!  Let your creativity flow with different materials and inspiration
each week in March on Sundays from 1-3:30 p.m. or Mondays from 3:30-7 p.m.

Family Art (All Ages)

Drop-in to the Family Dept. for a fun art project that all skill levels will enjoy!  Let your creativity flow with different materials and inspiration
each week in April on *Sundays from 1-3:30 p.m. or *Mondays from 3:30-7 p.m.

  • April 5 & 6 - *CLOSED
  • April 12 & 13 - April Showers
  • April 19 & 20 - Construction Paper Flowers
  • April 26 & 27 - Bingo Butterflies

Homeschool Hangout: Wings and Wheels (Recommended for Ages 6-12)

Fly by for vehicle-themed STEAM activities and games. Homeschoolers and their families are invited to drop-in to race rubber-band cars and create roller coasters while learning about terrific modes of transportation. 

This program will take place in the Library Program Rooms on Tuesday, April 14 from 1:30-3 p.m.  

Upcoming:  Homeschool Hangout Science Fair!  Tuesday, June 16 from 1:30-3 p.m.  Register now!


PA Day: Friday, April 24

Kidchella - Family Dept. Drop-In (All Ages)

Get ready for Kidchella - a music-filled, family drop-in festival perfect for your PA Day!  Drop-in between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to sing along to your favourite tunes, create flower crowns, and explore a variety of fun, hands-on music activities.   

Makerspace Drop-In (Ages 4+)

  • Pop into the Makerspace anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for a perfect PA Day project to keep you engaged & entertained! 

Family Movie Matinee: Sing (All Ages)

  • Join us for a free screening of Sing; where music and lights bring magic to life!  Doors open at 2 p.m. in our Library Program Rooms.  Registration is not required but space is limited.  (This movie is rated PG).


Primary Party: Spring STEAM (Ages 6-8 years)

Soar into spring!  Create colourful kites that fly and let your imagination bloom with spring science and art projects.  Join us for this exciting program on Tuesday, April 28th from 6-7 p.m.  

Register now; an up-to-date library card required.  This program will be hosted in the Family Program Room.


MAY PROGRAMS


Family Art (All Ages)

  • May 2 & 4 - Paper Bag Kites
  • May 9 & 11 - Clothespin Butterflies
  • May 16 - Popsicle Stick Trucks (*Closed Monday, May 18)
  • May 23 & 25 - Foil Fish
  • May 30 - Fruit Fun

Homeschool Hangout: Energy is Electric! (Recommended for Ages 6-12)

This Homeschool Hangout is going electric!  Homeschool families are invited to drop-in for this interactive, hands-on program learning about simple circuits, creating light-up art, and making playdough electric!   Spark your curiosity, connect with peers, and prepare for some shockingly good fun!  This program will take place in the Family Dept. Program Room on Tuesday, May 12 from 1:30-3 p.m. 

Upcoming Registered Event:  Homeschool Hangout Science Fair!  Tuesday, June 16 from 1:30-3 p.m.  Register by May 25th!


Tweens: Retro Recess! (Ages 9-12)

Tweens, is your favourite subject recess?  We're bringing it back - old-school style!  Get ready for an evening of dodgeball, jump rope, marbles, prizes and more!  Join us on Tuesday, May 19, from 6-7:30 p.m., in the Library Program Rooms.  Sneakers, a water bottle and comfortable clothing recommended!  

Register now: an up-to-date library card is required to attend.
